I will assume that you had a doc where the number was manually set in the Word doc?

When you import, you are converting to HTML. HTML requires that an ordered list be an unbroken chain of list items. So if there are any constructs between bullet items, it breaks an ordered list, "resetting" them to 1.

Of course it does. I thought there was a keystroke way to set the numbering or was that in the old style editor?
