Hi David!

What we see here looks like plain HTML from your instance. This could be caused by a proxy between your instance and the Client machine, your computer.

Are you able to give me a little insight to your current status:

  1. Are you on Confluence Cloud or Confluence Server?
  2. Is this happening regardless of Browser being used?
  3. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?
  4. When did you first notice this?
  5. Have you recently installed any Browser Plugins?
  6. Was there any change applied to your firewall?

If you are on Confluence Server, you will want to take a look here:

Layout Issues After Upgrading Confluence

Looking forward to your reply!

Hi all..

The problem was solved and easily..  After the post I saw a another post talking about improper Dashboard rendering.  After checking the the Java version "java -version". It became clear that Java was not installed.  Once Java was installed ( sudo apt install ...)  the problem was not present.  Not sure why Java was not installed but that is for another day.  Thanks all for responding and having old postings to review.

;-)
