Do duplicated users take up more license slots?

Hi everyone,

I am testing whether the integration of Atlassian CROWD would be beneficial to our product. At the moment in time we have one (Active Directory) authentication server (username and credentials) and another (LDAP) authorization server (where the specific groups and roles are stored). I am at the point where I have exactly the same user from both servers in CROWD twice. Am I correct that this means that for one specific user that is contained on two different servers (autho. and authe.) this person takes up 2 license slots?

If so, is there any way to avoid this?
