Hi Guys,

I am seeing the fluentd inside the Jira chart as an option. Should log shipper should be inside the chart?  Log shipper most of time run as daemon set seperately  and ship all of the standard log output of the pod. 

Would it be possible to remove fluentd option in https://github.com/atlassian/data-center-helm-charts/tree/main/src/main/charts/jira. ?

@kube130 Fluentd is optional and not included by default. It's just an option to aggregate and send logs to a backend with Fluentd sidecar in case there's no centralized logging solution in the cluster.

@Yevhen , then add fluent-bit and other shipper as well. If not I think this is a bad way to create the chart for one log shipper aggregation.  Let me know what you think.

@kube130 it's up to a k8s admin to choose log aggregators. Fluentd sidecar is shipped with Jira Helm chart as an option. You may or may not use it. There's no golden standard in log management and we certainly can't support them all.
