Hello all and welcome to the Enterprise Examiner! It’s already the middle of May and what a beautiful month it’s been! Since our last Examiner, we’ve been incredibly busy building resources to help support our Enterprise customers!
Read on to find out more about what’s happening with Access, Data Center, Cloud migration, TEAM 2021 recaps and MORE!
Here are some great blogs to catch up on Atlassian’s authentication policies:
Blog: Authentication policies shouldn’t be one-size fits all
Blog: Get the flexibility you need from Atlassian’s multiple authentication policies
We’re pleased to inform you all that the automatic product discovery feature within Access is now live. With automatic product discovery, Access customers gain visibility into their organization’s shadow IT products. This is a key capability for our admins, making it easier to mitigate billing and security concerns over unauthorized products within their organizations.
For all the details, check out the product guide here.
Guess what? As of , that pesky domain claim email that users used to get after claiming a domain that said “your account is now managed by the organization” has officially been removed. Instead, once the domain is claimed, a message will appear at the top of the customer profile settings inside the product.
Check out a brand new Access webinar all about what’s new in the product, available on demand https://www.atlassian.com/webinars/software/whats-new-in-access. There’s also a super cool on-demand 30 minute Access demo that reviews each Access feature & in-product demo on how to set them up!
A brand new capability is available today in Jira Software Data Center 8.17 (and forward) called Flexible Terminology. It will allow admins the ability to change naming conventions in their Jira instance to ensure consistent naming of Sprints and Epics between Jira and Agile at Scale Frameworks (including SAFe, LeSS, etc). This capability helps our admins because it allows them to standardize terminology without the need for 3rd party applications, while allowing organizations as a whole to reach their scaled agile initiatives.

TOOLKITS AND APPS
We’re excited to share progress on automated app migrations in the new blog, “We’re making it easier to migrate your Marketplace apps.” The blog includes shout-outs to Marketplace Partners actively building automated paths as part of early access (like ScriptRunner and Zephyr) and what automatically migrating apps and app data will look like within the Cloud Migration Assistants. This is great for customers who are curious about what migrating will mean for their apps.
Additionally, we’ve launched two free migrations toolkits for our customers who are planning a cloud migration or have already started migrating.
First, the Cloud business case toolkit includes business case checklists as well as presentation and email templates for internal stakeholders. This is great for customers who have just decided to move to cloud or who are in early stages of the migration.
Second, the Cloud migration toolkit - outfitted with assets to make running the actual migration easier, including a step by step migrations checklist, migration runbook template, and communication templates to inform stakeholders of cloud migration milestones. This is great for customers who are actively planning a migration or looking for more support to get started.
We hosted a webinar covering the top security & compliance objections we hear from server customers evaluating or considering a move to cloud. In particular, we addressed the main concerns we hear from customers located in the EU. Leaders across Atlassian, including our Head of Privacy, with discussion topics like: Atlassian’s commitment to GDPR compliance, data residency and data encryption, our plans to meet additional compliance regulations, security and privacy in our marketplace apps.
