Creating linkers with custom url protocol

I'm trying to create a Crucible linker that points to a url that doesn't start with http(s)

The link is for HP ALM and has the format of tds://host/apipath

If I use change the linker to use http instead, it works. As soon as I change the http:// to tds:// it doesn't become a hyperlink in the comments / title / descriptions
