Is there any way to import LDAP groups into Crucible? Looking at all the configuration fields, it appears that I can only import users from LDAP and have to create groups manually. Can I link up Crucible to another Atlassian service that does support LDAP groups and get them from there? Is there any external API I could run to synchronize LDAP groups and Crucible groups?
Hi Brent.
Unfortunately LDAP groups are not supported within fisheye/crucible.
If you have Crowd - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/Configuring+an+LDAP+Directory+Connector and after configure CROWD as the Authentication in Crucible - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/JIRA+Integration+in+FishEye#JIRAIntegrationinFishEye-2.ConnectingtoJIRAforUserManagement
Or you can also use JIRA - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Connecting+to+an+LDAP+Directory and after configure JIRA as the Authentication in Crucible - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/JIRA+Integration+in+FishEye#JIRAIntegrationinFishEye-2.ConnectingtoJIRAforUserManagement
Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks. We do have Jira, but I'm stuck on step 2.2.b in the url you provided ( https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/JIRA+Integration+in+FishEye#JIRAIntegrationinFishEye-2.ConnectingtoJIRAforUserManagement). There is no section titled "JIRA or Crowd Authentication" on our instance. Two things to note:

Just an update, FishEye/Crucible 4.0 brings full support for LDAP groups and multiple user directories. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/External+user+directories for details.

Is there a way to import groups from Crowd into Crucible/FishEye? Right now, when I attempt to specify groups in the application configuration within Crowd, Crucible/FishEye will import the users within the groups, but groups themselves will not be imported.

Anyone know if a Feature Request for this? I filed it in FE https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/FE-4615, hope it's not a dup

Hi Brent.
To configure Crowd for your Crucible you can follow this:
Then configure it according to your environment and it should work properly.
Please let me know how it goes.

Sorry, but "Setup JIRA/Crowd Authentication" is not an option for me. Under "Security Settings --> Authentication" there these sections:
Do I need to install a plugin or something else to get that Crowd Authentication? Or is this something only available with Fisheye, not stand alone Crucible?
