How to prevent 'Click to load diff' during review?

Our users have been experiencing this feature when scrolling through changes in a Crucible review, the content disappears and a link appears to "Click to load diff" 

We are running Version:4.5.3 Build:20180321104931 

Can someone explain (1) why this is happening, and (2) if we can prevent it somehow?

I've had a user report this for the first time today - were you ever able to find a reason why and/or a fix?
