Introducing Align Smart Links: Streamline Your Workflow

I’m Emily, a Product Manager for Align, and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Align Smart Links in v.11.13. This new feature transforms Align URLs into interactive Smart Links within Atlassian products, enhancing collaboration by surfacing key metadata, minimizing context switching, and helping your team stay focused.

Key Features

• Inline and Card Views: Users can view Align work items in both inline and card formats, offering flexibility in information presentation.

• Supported Work Items: Smart Links support various Align work items, including Theme, Epic, Capability, Feature, Objective, Dependency, and Risk.

Getting Started

To utilize Align Smart Links, simply paste a supported Align work item URL into Jira, Confluence, or another Atlassian product. The link will automatically convert into a Smart Link, displaying essential details at a glance.

Note: Smart Links are available only in Atlassian cloud products and are not supported in Data Center versions. Additionally, a mapping between your Align site and your Atlassian cloud organization must be established for Smart Links to resolve correctly. If you’re unsure whether this is set up, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

Do I understand correctly that this works only with explicit links?   This feature will not be JQL-like and allow you to link to a group of items based upon a shared value or parent?

@Paul Berryman Yes, that is correct - this feature only works with explicit links. 

Now, when you paste a URL to a supported Jira Align work item in an Atlassian Cloud product, it will render as a Smart Link rather than remain as a plaintext URL.
