How do we track Feature Lifecycle after it’s split? Does the part 1 & 2 have their own lifecycle?

1. End of PI if we split a feature - does it carry the same feature # or creates a feature new # for part 2?
2. How do we track the full lifecycle of feature? For part 1 & 2 split together?
3. Do these splits have their own lifecycle?

@Rupinder Pannu When splitting a feature, each part will have its own ID. The original feature will be part 1 with the original ID and the split will be part 2 with a new ID. These will be linked together as indicated in the below screenshots. This is the only association of the two. There are no reports or views where you can view these together as a whole. Part 2 will pick up where part 1 left off. Also when you do a split, any stories that have not been Accepted will move to part 2 of the split. As well, if the feature has been estimated, the estimation moves to part 2.

1. When you split a feature a new ID will be created. More information here
2. Your features will often follow the same lifecycle within a given Portfolio and Program.
3. No. Splitting a feature creates a new work item (feature) that follow the given Portfolio/programs lifecycle.
