What are the downstream impacts to Jira Align if we decide to turn off the sync of team updates ?

We are looking to generate cost per role rate and are having some challenges when it comes to the data in Align.  We are interested to know what happens if we toggled off the option to have teams updated when story card are synced with Clarity or QLIK
