@Laura Blom to do that you need to remove the "Sort" configuration - if you turn it on then it's going to sort all ideas vertically, based on that field's values. But if you remove it then you can arrange them to be on the same line.

Updating Start or End date in Gantt view is getting confusing updates when we see the actual data either in the idea detail or list view.
This is not about the timescale selection, and not sure if this can be classified as a bug but is definitely causing us to do lots of rework because when updating the Gantt then we need to go back and update the actual field, We need to get the specific date, don't really care about if it's a whole quarter or a whole month, it should be start and end date
Support ticket PCS-3685355 has requested me to post a comment on this blog post.
example below, start date falls at the beginning of the quarter but ends by the first month of the next quarter.

Gotcha @Victor Orantes - yes when you update the timeline view it uses the granularity that's set up in the view (monthly, or quarterly). The only way to have discrete dates instead (e.g. 17 March) is to do it via the date field in the idea, or in the list view.

A potential workaround, if you want all ideas to only work with discrete dates, is to write an automation rule that converts a month/quarter to the first date of that month/quarter. (from project settings > Automation). And that rule gets triggered any time someone updates one of the date fields. I haven't tried to do this but believe it should be possible. Not ideal, we'll think of how we can improve this.

@Tanguy Crusson thanks, I thought about the automation (not elegant, may work) need to thing about the different scenarios, not sure if there is a way to detect if it's a quarter selection vs discrete date from the automated flow itself... will explore, thanks for the feedback. And please consider this in your improvement plans, that would save us lots of time, mainly as we scale up and our product management process matures.
