📢 Announcing: Jira Product Discovery Premium is now available

CSD-13430_JPDPremiumGAAnnouncementEmailAssets_3-3_1160x620.jpg

Hi Community!

This month we’re celebrating two years of Jira Product Discovery. Can you believe it? In that time, over 18,000 customers have joined us on this journey, and we’ve learned so much from you.

Over the past year, one of the many things we’ve heard from you are the needs product organizations have when planning across multiple teams. As teams start growing and becoming teams of teams, they face a few unique challenges (we get it - we’ve experienced these too):

🔍 Leadership blind spots - Product leaders often struggle to get a clear picture of what’s happening across teams. Without a unified view, strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation becomes guesswork.

🧩 Inconsistent processes and planning - Different teams within a company have their own ways of prioritizing, structuring their roadmaps, and tracking work. That makes alignment—and reporting to leadership—a major time sink.

🔐 Security and governance at scale - Growing organizations need granular permissions, security and compliance features, and features that make administrating Jira Product Discovery at scale less manual.

Jira Product Discovery Premium

You may have already seen some early posts highlighting new features, but we’re excited to officially announce that Jira Product Discovery Premium is now available! While Jira Product Discovery Standard is best for individual product teams, Jira Product Discovery Premium is built for product organizations, allowing them to scale planning, improve visibility, and maintain better control and governance across multiple teams. Here’s a glimpse at our core features:

Standardized planning at scale

2-Cross-project view - Roadmaps (2) 1.png

Help product ops and program managers standardize terminology and formatting across teams, and aggregate roadmaps for stakeholders to see priorities across projects in a single view.

Visibility at every level

Show leaders and stakeholders how ideas, opportunities, and solutions connect and ladder up to one other to get the full picture and prioritize work at every level.

More control and governance

Frame 1171277203 1.png

Keep conversations focused and give stakeholders access to only what they need to see, when they need to see it with granular view restrictions.

Plus, enjoy a unified admin experience to manage Jira Product Discovery at scale with release tracks and sandbox, copy projects, 24/7 support, higher storage and automation limits, and more.

Wooo — way to start JPD June! 😄

I've been waiting for those granular view restrictions! 🔐

I need to fire up my One Atlassian and start playing with the rest of the Premium features to see what else is hiding there :))
Hierarchies look quite promising as well 👀

The registration for the upcoming premium webinar isn’t working for me.

After clicking the “Register Now” button, I received the following error message: "There was an error on the server".

Visibility at every level, of course!

The important thing is to have the data accessible and to interpret it quickly 😊

The unified view is interesting. As much can be done to consolidate and avoid going to a zillion different places to get the information you need is very welcome.

Yay for Roadmaps and Hierarchies - not sure about the need for a premium version of this as a product team is anyway working off a single backlog "jira project" anyway so it my mind JPD was always intended to be multi-team / multi-project it just didn't have the right lenses for it.

Now it seems we need to pay more money to get expected functionality. :(

So this means your expectation is that every "product team" has both a JPD project and a Jira project to do their work? That feels wrong unless the products are spanning many teams / projects already. Otherwise you are creating more friction, tooling and confusion over what tool to go to when.

Product teams most commonly have a product person in the product team so having a separate project for them feels a bit disjointed based on your framing of now JPD supports many teams / projects and that's why you need to pay. That is disappointing.

Very excited to hear all about the Visibility at every level options. My organisation has been trying to figure out a way to bring a sense of hierarchy to JPD and I'd love to see this in action

The ability to show how ideas are connected looks great!

It will definitely make reviews easier and help understand how they are organized.

@wolfgang-bertl hi there! did you register for the webinar using a work email address or personal? I believe the form requires a work email, which may be why you're getting an error. Can you try again and let me know?

It would be nice if default JPD fields were global fields to start. This would reduce the amount of onboarding a team to JPD and allow immediate use of premium roadmap features. I also think JPD premium should be included with jira premium.....

Dorota from Vilisoft June 5, 2025

What I like most is how different teams can prioritize and structure work in their own way, while still staying aligned. It really cuts down on the time spent reporting to leadership.
