Access other fields from a Connected type

Say I have two types:
Initiative
Theme

I have a Connection field connected to Theme, so I can say that "An Initiative has a Theme". In a list of Initiatives, I see the Theme connection field, and the value shown is the Summary of the Theme.

Is there any way to access all the other values of the Theme item in this view? For example, the list of Themes has a Priority field. In the Initiative view, it would be valuable to see the connected Theme's Priority value in its own column.

The closest I can get is that in the Connections tab on the Initiative I can add a single extra field from the Theme, and in a Board view, I can get this extra field to appear alongside the Theme as a "child item" to the Initiative. I have three challenges:

First, the chosen field from Theme is "globally chosen", so if I want a different extra field for one view than in another, I can't solve that.

Second the visibility of this extra field is limited, only in the Connections tab or in a very specific setup of views and fields.

And third, I want to be able to use that value, e.g. to sort and filter on, but on the Initiative.

I don't know if this could even work, as the Connection fields are by design multiselect. Perhaps having a choice of Sum, Avg, Agg (show each value), Max/Min would solve that.

Or perhaps the right way to solve this is through automation. When the Theme connection field is set, copy the value I want to the Initiative.

Thanks for the feedback @Freyr Gudmundson - I think you found all the relevant pieces we have today in the solution, and current limitations. We'll look at your feedback as we evolve the feature
