Can I safely retire Polaris link types?

In certain Jira Cloud instances, I've encountered "Polaris" link types.

Looks like they're created by and used by Jira Product Discovery.

Question: Anyone know if it's okay to rename the link types from Polaris to Product Discovery, so other Jira admins aren't confused by them?

Related Question: When is it okay to delete these link types?

šŸ” Usually reserved system objects are highlighted as such, and can't be modified by admins. Example: The "Approvals" field has "LOCKED" next to it, when navigating the Custom Fields admin page.

p.s. I found a Community article from June 2024 (written by ACC Rachel Wright), that mentions the Polaris link types. Would be nice if this was in Atlassian's official docs.

Hi @Dave Liao , you can delete and rename them - as in it won't break anything - but they will be re-created as-is the next time someone opens a Jira Product Discovery project. We need to do some cleanup here to rename them and see if we can make them locked
