Hello,
we would like to use the new Idea TYPES in JPD but for our use case the type "idea" is not suitable. Will there be an option to rename this one?
Hi @Jet ,
thanks for your reply!
I can change or delete the idea types that I add myself at any time, but the first entry in the list -> “idea”, cannot be changed or deleted. You can see it in the attached screenshot.
When I hover over it no pencil is displayed for editing. This entry is grayed out/disabled for editing/deleting.
The background to my question is that we want to use JPD for our IT portfolio and categorize submitted ideas as "project", "CR" or "procurement". We therefore do not need "idea" as category.
Thanks for the context @Katrin Erhardt - you are correct for now you can't edit the name of that type - it's something we need to improve.

Hi @Tanguy Crusson ,
This particular issue is also slightly annoying for us.
The first user in our team who opened JPD must have had their Jira set in French, and so now the default type is "idée" whereas we want to have our whole workflow in English.
So sure it works, but it is not clean.

@Thierry Beja that's a bummer! we talked about it with the team and we'll try to make it so you can edit "Ideas" or "Idées" like any other type. It might be a few weeks before that's done though.
In the meantime, I would suggest working in French. I've been doing this since I was born and I really don't see what the problem is 😂😂😂

You can rename the idea type to any name you want using custom idea types.
Read more about how to configure that here https://support.atlassian.com/jira-product-discovery/docs/create-and-configure-idea-types/
I'm also curious to hear what you would like to name them?
