Hello Atlassian Community!

I just created different JPD projects/spaces for our feature teams, and a roadmap for a global view across all projects/spaces. Works like a charm! But what I haven't figured out yet is how to link an item from project A to an item in project B.

I read in another post that it might be a question of permissions, however, I have both Admin and Editor role in all projects. When I click on "Link issue" in one item, it will only show me items from the same project.

Do you have any suggestions what I could check or do to solve this?

Thanks for your support!

Hi @helene_blumer

try this:

You can still link items across projects manually by using the issue key of the item you want to link. Here's how:

  1. Go to the item in Project B that you want to link.
  2. Copy its issue key (e.g., PROJB-123).
  3. Go to the item in Project A, click “Link issue”, and paste the issue key directly into the search box.
  4. It should resolve and allow you to link it, even if it doesn’t show up in the dropdown.Screenshot 2025-10-14 144358.jpg
