Name Fields - showing full name instead of icon

Hello Jira PD experts!

It appears that fields Creator, and Assignee when shown on the list view, the full name will be shown.  But when I add a custom name field, only the icon of the user (not full name) is shown.   Is there a way to show the full name of the user of a custom name field?

Related question: is there a way to show user's icon + full name on the Roadmap view card layout?
