Hi,
I’ve been using the Jira widget for FigJam together with Jira Product Discovery. One issue I’ve noticed is that the priority field is visible in the widget, but it cannot actually be added or configured in the JPD project itself.
From what I understand, JPD does not allow configuring the system “priority” field the way Jira Software/Service Management does, so in practice the widget displays something that isn’t usable. This creates confusion for users who expect to be able to set or change priority from FigJam.
Is there any plan to fully support Jira Product Discovery fields in the FigJam widget (including priority), or is the recommendation simply to create a custom field and map that instead?
Thanks in advance for clarifying.
My recommendation is to create a custom field for priority given that the system priority field isn't supported in JPD. On our end, we will remove the default integrations list to avoid confusion.
Kind regards,
Jet
With a smile on my face and "tongue in cheek" I hereby declare Shenanigans on the resolution. Here's why.....
You can set the priority field on any issue (work item). Its a core field that has been in place since the beginning.
The fact you can't display it on a screen is a shame
But I will bet you will prefer to have the priority set for your plugin or whatever other purpose spawned the original question.
See the screen shot below. You can put a priority on your JPD issues one of 3 ways.
I did invoke ChatGPT to confirm the approach and to write up the steps.

Although Jira Product Discovery doesn’t surface Priority in its default Idea screens, you can make use of the standard Jira Priority field for JPD issues. Here’s how:
In Jira settings → Issues → Priorities, define the set of priorities your team will use.
(Example: High, Medium, Low — or whatever matches your process.)
Create a Priority Scheme that includes these values.
In Jira settings → Issues → Priority schemes, select your scheme.
Associate the scheme with your Jira Product Discovery project.
This ensures the Priority field is available for all Idea issues in that project.
Since JPD doesn’t show Priority directly on the Idea screens, users have three main options:
Issue Navigator
Go to Filters → Advanced issue search.
Add priority
as a column.
Inline-edit the Priority field for individual issues.
Bulk Edit
From the Issue Navigator, select multiple issues.
Choose Bulk change → Edit issues.
Set Priority for all selected items at once.
Automation
Use Project automation to set or update Priority based on other fields or workflows.
Example: When an Idea moves to “Selected for Delivery,” set Priority = Medium.
✅ Result: Priority values are now usable in JQL, filters, dashboards, reporting, and integrations — even if they’re not exposed on the JPD issue create/edit screen.

Lets see if this works.... I created a new Priority Scheme, a New Product Discovery Project, and a new Priority called "This Idea Kicks Butt". I was able to add my new priority to my new priorty scheme and then assign the scheme to my Product Discovery Project.
Does this not result in an ability to manage priorities or JPD?
If I overlooked something, don't feel obligated to walk me through it. But if this helps, then my time spent here was worth it. :-)
Thanks

As this is a marketplace app, normally I would suggest contacting the vendor via their marketplace support page. However, this app appears to be unsupported and points back to the community:

As a workaround, perhaps check the vendor's other products in the marketplace to find their contact information, and then contact their support team:

Kind regards,
Bill
