ideas sorting are scrambled across views

hello folk,

we have four product teams, and I created five views, one view all ideas as master view, and specific view for each product team. Our PMs are seeing strange behavior after they finished ranking their ideas, it gets scrambled after while.

I checked there is not specific sorting applied to each view, but does it moving idea up or down in product view would affect the master view? thank you

Hi @Qais Alkhatib

Whenever you have a view in your JPD project that is not sorted, ideas will be displayed automatically sorted using their LexoRank.

Although this rank field isn't visible on JPD views, this is the mechanism that is used across Jira to rank items in order to display them.

Whenever an idea is moved to another position in a list, it automatically updates its rank and as you have noticed, it will impact how ideas are natively sorted in other views as well (if not sort is applied).

If you'd like to have a view sorted in a specific way without being affected by the idea rank updates, what you could do is sort your view (via the idea keys for example) so that it's always displayed in your preferred sorting method.
