I'm using the automation rule in Jira to set the Epic status Released when all children have the status = Done.
I added a rule to set the JPD Idea status to Released when the delivery ticket (Epic) status = Released. This rule does NOT run if the first rule is what set the Epic status to Released.
If I change the Epic (delivery ticket) status to Released manually then my rule to update JPD Idea works fine, so I know the rule is okay.
How do I get both rules to work together? It seems very odd to me that I'm using the template rules and I can't use them together.
Why doesn't it recognize the Epic status change from the rule?
Hi @Corey Hampton,
In your JPD rule, have you checked this check box in the Rule details page?
Based on your description, that seems to be the most plausible explanation as to why it is currently not being triggered.
Hope this helps!
Hi Corey,
I don't have an answer to your question but I am interested in this rule you have - set the JPD Idea status to Released when the delivery ticket (Epic) status = Released. Would you mind sharing more about what the setup is for this rule? I've been trying to set it up myself but ideas aren't coming in as an option for me in the global automation rule setup.
