data transfer - JPD into Jira ticket

Andrea Scherwitz July 14, 2023

We are close to the test phase with JPD. But I already wonder what kind of contents from the "idea" via JPD will be transferred into the Jira ticket ? Can you show me a overview ?

Hey, nothing will be transferred because you need to create „delivery“ tickets for Jira. These tickets can contain all dev relevant stuff you need. The idea will be linked to the issue in Jira. That’s it :-)

Hi @Andrea Scherwitz here's an example of what you see in Jira Software once you transfer an idea from Jira Product Discovery to an issue in Jira Software. I'm speaking to customers today about this journey, if you would like to share your views you can book time in with me through Calendly https://calendly.com/rswami-atlassian/jira-product-discovery-and-delivery

Hey Rohan,

many thanks for your quick response. For the moment we are testing and checking if JPD is the right tool for our requirements.. But i am sure, to come back to you with more questions as soon as we get there.

Hi Andrea, on top of what Rohan described, if you want you can configure an automation rule to copy over the idea's description to the corresponding delivery work (e.g. epic).

It's explained here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Product-Discovery-articles/Product-demo-Automation-for-Delivery/ba-p/2057152
