BACKUP THE SITE!

Now that you have backed up the site, welcome to this article. Even though Atlassian, Community Leaders, and many, many users world-wide could not possible understand why this would be necessary, I will explain the steps for accomplishing just this task.

A video of these steps with a demonstration has been included for those that enjoy the show-me experience. There are also links to Atlassian's official documentation for those admin that want to go straight to the source.

Atlassian Cloud - How to Delete Your Site & Cancel Your Subscription

Method 1 | Licensing Portal

1. Backup your Site
2. Navigate to https://my.atlassian.com 
3. Find the Atlassian Cloud item in the list.
4. Click on Cancel Subscription.
5. Choose Cancel or Delete Immediately.
   • Cancel will allow access for the remainder of the billing period, will deactivate the site for 2 weeks (during which the site can be re-enabled), and then delete the site.
   • Delete Immediately does just that.
6. Type CANCEL in the confirmation box.
7. Provide Atlassian with a bit of feedback (this really does help).
8. Click the Delete Now / Cancel button.
9. Refresh the portal and confirm the subscription is gone.

Method 2 | Site Admin Portal 

1. Backup your Site
2. Navigate to https://admin.atlassian.com 
3. Select the Site you want to cancel.
4. Select Manage Subscriptions under the Subscriptions & Billing heading within the left column.
5. Select Cancel Subscriptions at the bottom of the Active Subscriptions list.
6. Choose Cancel or Delete Immediately.
   • Cancel will allow access for the remainder of the billing period, will deactivate the site for 2 weeks (during which the site can be re-enabled), and then delete the site.
   • Delete Immediately does just that.
7. Type CONFIRM in the confirmation box.
8. Provide Atlassian with a bit of feedback (this really does help).
9. Click the Delete Now / Cancel button.

The "Delete" option is no longer there?

We dont see Delete Immediately option

It would possibly be necessary because folks in our organization created new Jira and Confluence sites by mistake. Over and over again. :)

I also don't see the DELETE Immediately option.
