The Timeline view is NOT a valid replacement of the JRIA Road Map,

1) Epics do not equal Releases one-to-one.

2) the Timeline cannot be displayed on a Dashboard.

All other suggested replacements do not show the same information about a Release on the Dashboard is such a concise way.

PLEASE do not discontinue to JIRA Road Map!

I agree with @jcline_ipipeline_com.   The replacement is not the same and it does not have the JIRA Roadmap release information.  Besides, the new replacement is based on Epic and only works for a specific Project.  This is an unacceptable replacement.

Are there another dashboard gadgets replace Jira Road Map? if not, Timeline view is not a replacement. please consider to keep Jira Roadmap dashboard gadget as this is a core part on dashboard to overview release date for all releases across all projects

If you don't reverse this decision, then it is clear that Jira is on the "roadmap" to Enshittification.

Look it up.

May 2025 is coming very fast - only 6 weeks away!

When will you be making available the proper replacement for the Jira Roadmap Gadget?

We would like to start testing it before you switch off the one we are using on a daily basis.

Or should we all have been joining other blog you referred to in your 'Thank you' section on this blog?

Atlassian-Home-dashboards-alpha-testing

Although, with only 7 comments and 11 people liking that blog compared to this one, it suggests your paying customers are not really very interested in it...

Feels like we are going backwards in time. Why not create a like-for-like feature before retiring the current view? We have used this for all our projects for close to 8 years both on prem and cloud. Current dashboard is simple, non-engineering user friendly and easy to follow. Timeline view will just complicate things for us and users across the org.

Atlassian - as a company who uses Agile Methodology you refine and improve based on feedback.  There is alot of feedback in regards to you retiring the Roadmap gadget.  BUT you are not listening to the feedback of your customers/users of your great application Jira!!!

If you were listening to the feedback and actioning then you would change your decision on retiring the roadmap gadget.

Obviously the replacement of roadmap gadget is not a like for like and will NOT meet your customers needs/requirements.

How about doing improvements that improve your customers experience and support them with keeping roadmap gadget!!!

We have been live on JIRA now for a few months. Can someone from Atlassian share with us what Gadget will replace "Project". Myself and the rest of my Project Management team need this functionality from a Dashboard perspective. This is not efficient to remove something that works for us and then remove it without a suitable alternative!!!!

My clients are complaining about this and the cost keeps getting higher with less. It is causing my clients to move away from Atlassian products.

Eu uso sempre gráficos de mapa de calor, estatísticas e pizza. Mesmo sem suporte, conseguirei manter meus gráficos atualizados? Eles funcionarão?

I am a Scrum Master and need the Roadmap view on my dashboard, that is how we group our releases and the team relies on the dates for planning.  PLEASE, tell me you have a plan to improve on it or bring it back, the gadget is extremely detrimental to my team.

I feel like it's getting harder to just see my darn releases, across projects. The new sidebar makes this harder too. I need to be able to jump to all issues in a particular release. Timeline doesn't do anything of the sort. ...I had to literally add a text gadget to my dashboard that links to RELEASES for my various projects. And that doesn't show progress. Ugh.

I keep thinking I can get used to the changes but this one (loss of the simple Roadmap widget) is inconvenient every single day.

There's a lot going on in Jira, sometimes that's nice but sometimes things get too complicated and I don't have the manpower to deal with it. I hope the new dashboard thing is simple enough to actually use.

As a suggestion—I'm using Issue Statistics widget instead of Heat Map in several places and it's OK, but when there are no results you can't quickly look at the filter. In Heat Map you can click '0 issues' and verify the filter or adjust it. So it would be nice if Issue Statistics did the same. Thanks.

Terrible decision and the comments shows the lack of community engagement and real-life user feedback taken into account before proceeding with such a drastic change. These changes will affect multiple organizations and teams that depended on years-built processes around these features. The planning and execution is also very poor, just shooting a note for whoever is lucky to find it on time. Whoever is behind this train wreck should be audited and a suitable replacement should be considered.

@Ella Hilton Is the Projects widget in Confluence also affected by the discontinuation?

Jira is recommending Issue statistics as replacement for the project board, but this a very poor replacement and not working for us.  When clicking to open a project it is opening a filter board, see below, and not the project board itself. How to resolve.?

@Ella Hilton any update on replacing the Projects gadget? Multiple users like myself would need an apropriate replacement! (see e.g. https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-articles/Update-We-re-ending-support-for-five-dashboard-gadgets-in-May/bc-p/2858024#M16302)

We need the Roadmap view to see releases across multiple projects. Please tell us there is another extension to allow for a suitable replacement before you discontinue it.

If you are fine to explore a mktplace add-on, I can suggest our app

Issue Hierarchy

The app also allows you to view your project issue hierarchy in a tree view. You can view %complete progress at each parent level. It roll ups the time tracking fields, story point or numeric fields at each parent level. The app can be added to a dashboard as well.

@Ella Hilton and Atlassian Team. The new "deadline" is approching and we're not seeing any acceptable replacement for the Roadmap Gadget. Any comments on that or we just have to assume that you're going to remove a functionality and that's it? This is just unbeliavable.

This is bullshit. And I am going to be really pissed off on May 1st if my Roadmap is gone.

But go ahead and concentrate on adding emojis and idiotic automatic tripe responses like "Looks good!".

Here, let me try one of those canned comment responses and see if that helps.

"Can you clarify...?"

Retiring a core feature of the Jira interface like "Projects", which our team uses often for managing and organizing our IT helpdesk just because you don't feel like supporting it without any definitive alternative is a really lousy move. Our department is contemplating switching to a new system just because of this feature being removed.

Very lousy move from Atlassian without considering the users feedback and usefulness of the dashboard gadgets that Atlassian doesn't feel like supporting. If there is no suitable or better alternative of the same gadget on the dashboard in Cloud, Atlassian must rethink and continue supporting these dashboard gadgets in Cloud.
