We're pausing the removal of the five Jira dashboard gadgets

Initially, we planned to remove the Jira Road Map, Bubble Chart, Heat Map, Projects, and Labels gadgets in May 2025. After reviewing your feedback, we decided to pause the removal of these gadgets.

Why are we pausing the gadget removal?

We're pausing the gadget removal to ensure there are no disruptions to your workflow as we work to bring similar and expanded functionality to the new Home dashboards.

After gathering your feedback to ensure that the new Home dashboards can meet your needs, we’ll address the gadgets as a part of a broader shift toward Home dashboards.

What are Home dashboards?

Home dashboards unlock flexible reporting across your unique system of work, leveraging Jira, Jira service management, Goals and third-party DevOps data. This experience is now in open beta and available to organization admins to opt-in via Atlassian Administration.

We’d love to hear your feedback

Home dashboards are still evolving, and we want to ensure they fit how you and your team work. If you run into a bug or have a question, suggestion, or comment, you can select Give feedback when viewing or editing a dashboard to get in touch with us.

We’ll be tracking common themes and prioritizing feedback that adds the most value to your work.

Thank you for being responsive to the feedback from the community. We saw the announcement for the open beta for Home Dashboards and are looking forward to seeing that feature set progress.

Thank you Atlassian team! I know how difficult it is to balance moving forward and not disrupting functionality for users (that's software for ya!), so I really appreciate you holding off on this for a little longer and giving us opportunity to try out the Home boards :)

Thank you!  I am very glad I can continue to use the "quick links" to my projects' Boards and Queues in my Dashboard (currently fulfilled as part of the Projects gadget)!

Thank you! - The Road map is the most important for us, so looking forward to seeing the new dashboards and replacement for that one.

Hi all!

We're currently exploring ways to improve the Home dashboard experience (currently in Beta). If you use Jira Dashboards or Home Dashboards, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re running 1 hour long usability sessions to better understand how you use filters, what’s working well, and where things could be better. Your feedback will help us design dashboards that are more powerful, flexible, and tailored to your needs.

Who we’re looking for:
  • Users of Jira Dashboards and/or Home Dashboards
  • Comfortable with filters, or curious about making dashboards more useful
  • Happy to chat for 1 hour over Zoom

Interested?
  • Just fill out this quick form and we’ll be in touch to schedule a time.
  • You’ll receive a gift voucher to thank you for your time

We’re looking forward to hearing from you,
Elinor

It would have been good to announce this via the same banner that said you were retiring them. I've been doing cleanup and scratching my head why the warning banner was removed on dashboards I had already researched for cleanup. I had to search multiple times to find this article that said you're now leaving things as is.

This does raise other concerns though, does this effectively mean that Jira dashboards are now deprecated as new features will only be implemented into Home dashboards?

As of right now (I know it's just a beta) Home dashboards are in absolutely no way a replacement for Jira dashboard, severely lacking in features across the board (no custom fields, not even a link to issues/work items, ...).

What exactly is Atlassians plan here?

Thanks for listening to your customers feedback - obviously your customers are very passionate about Jira and Confluence and am getting huge rewards in getting their projects done.  And how dependent we all are on Jira and Confluence and being such a pivotal tool for our companies.

Hello,

If someone would like to keep getting updates to the Heat Map, Projects, Roadmap, Labels gadgets - you can install the app I developed which contains all these gadgets in one app. The UX is the same. The UI is updated.

Additional features to the standard behaviour:

  • Heatmap now has several font-sizes for tokens/elements. Simply put, this bug is fixed.
  • Roadmap now can display all the releases, even those which don't have release dates or versions.
  • Labels now can display data for any number of projects, not just for one.
