Hi guys,
Was wondering if anyone has seen this issue or if its just something I have done wrong.
I have configured my Insight Object Schema and the Import Configuration behind that (enabled all). I've told it to use DSC for the file Import type and pointed it to the location of the Discovery ZIP.
The 1st Discovery was done and ZIP was imported fine. It created an entry in Insight for my machine. I have since done a 2nd scan in Insight Discovery on another machine and it has updated the original ZIP file with some more files. I have run the Import for a 2nd time in Insight Import and the new workstation info is not populating.
I don't know if I have missed a config somewhere along the way, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Greg
Hi @Greg Latter
When you upload the Discovery ZIP file, we store a copy of it in Insight cloud. Updates to the ZIP file on your local machine won't be visible in the copy we have stored. You need to re-upload the ZIP file after changes are made in order for Insight to pick up the new objects. You can do this by editing the import structure.
Alternatively, you could set up Discovery to use the Cloud Export functionality (documented here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/export-data-from-insight-discovery-to-insight-cloud/)
This will allow you to automatically import changes from Discovery scans into Insight.
Hope this helps!
Andrea
Hi @Andrea
The auto import via the cloud worked a treat! Thank you for suggesting that! It's adding the hosts now as expected.
I just have another problem now with "basic hosts". I'm added to the local admin group on the machines but its not allowing me to do a full scan on them. Returning them as basic hosts, any ideas?
Thanks again.
Greg

No worries! Glad it helped :)

Not sure on that one, sorry! I don't work much with the Discovery tool itself. I'll ask around and see if anyone else has some hints.
Do you see anything when you test the credentials you've set for those machines? https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/configure-credential-settings-in-insight-discovery/

I've even tried deleting the old scan files from the ZIP and tried to import but it gives a successful message but no additional objects
