8 hours difference with user time

Harold de Bell January 26, 2022

This issue appeares since yesterday.

When I create an issue in Jira, it shows that the issue was created 8 hours earlier.

What has happened, what is the cause?

Hi @Harold de Bell 👋

I've taken a look at this for you and would recommend reading this Jira Support article - Incorrect timestamps displayed in Jira server. The resolution highlights are below...

  • Modify the timezone, as per our Set the timezone for the Java environment KB article.
  • Ensure the desired timezone output is configured in JIRA's database
  • Verify the default timezone is not being changed at runtime by any plugins installed in JIRA. This will cause significant problems.

I hope this helps but if you have any other questions just ask away 😃

All the best,

Laura

Hello @Laura Holton _ACE Rotterdam_

Thanks for your reaction.

The time in the created issue should be according to the time zone that is in your profile, in any case, how it used to be.

This time zone should reflect the time (for creation, updating, etc) in your issue (independent from the time on the Jira server).

So, how can it be that the time when the issue was created is different from the date in the issue itself (in this case 8 hours earlier than the time zone mentioned in the profile)issue-time-not-correct.jpg
