A way to do an XML backup and restore via command line?

I am pretty sure the Jira (or Atlassian) command line plugin does not have this option, so is there any way to perform an administrative Back and Restore via the command line?

I'm not familiar enough with the CLI tool, but the only other thing I can think of is to use wget.

Perhaps you could reconstruct the URL and it's parameters using the above to do what you want? Seems like maybe not the best solution though. Maybe the REST API offers something better as an alternative. I don't know, you'd have to poke around, but off the top of my head wget came to mind.
