A workflow is showing in the Issue Status list but not in the workflow list

rs2di32 June 14, 2023

I have a workflow that is showing up as associated when I go to Statuses and then look at associated workflows with this particular status.  However, if I then go into Workflows, and search for that same workflow, it doesn't show up under active or inactive?  I'm trying to delete the workflow but cannot get to it to delete it through workflows screen.  Its inactive and not associated to a project.

Hi @rs2di32 and welcome to the Community!

While I don't really have means to simulate the issue you describe, I am just wondering if the workflow is linked to an archived or trashed project somehow.

I can imagine that the workflow is linked to an existing workflow scheme (that is no longer linked to a project). You may want to check that in Jira Admin > Issues > Workflow Schemes > check under inactive. Should this be the case, try if deleting that workflow scheme first lets you delete the workflow afterwards.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, yes this helped with one scenario.  The other one is a bit more complex.  In the Statuses list I have a status of Requirement.  When I look at the associated workflows there is one - SFG.  However, when I go to search for SFG in the Workflows list, both active and inactive, it is not showing up?  How could that be?
