I created a filter and a board to view all jiras across multiple projects. I would like to be able to view the version report across all projects shows team's progress towards the completion of a version.
welcome to the community!
Versions are generally "per project" in Jira, and consequently, Jira doesn't offer a dedicated cross-project version report. There is a concept of cross-project versions in Advanced Roadmaps (which is part of Jira Premium), but I haven't used them myself in a while, so I can 't comment on the details.
Alternatively, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you'll have more options.
E.g., my team and I work on an app that I think you might like, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for issue grouping by any issue field(s) and sum-ups.
With these, you can build a cross-project version view like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:
Note how the group for "v1" contains issues from project WORK as well as issues from project OKR. That's because both projects have a version with the name "v1".
Issue grouping and sum-ups also play well with JXL's other advanced features, such as configurable issue hierarchies or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
