I have received a request from our users of GreenHopper rapid boards to be able to view the subtask Jiras of an issue in plan mode. The request is being made for a couple of reasons. Our users would like to be able to examine the subtask jiras to verify team assignments vs capacity as well as verifying story estimates of the subtasks during the planning stage before adding the story to a sprint. They will then decide to assign the whole story and its subtasks to the sprint as a whole. There is no desire to only pick certain subtasks of a story to add to the sprint as discussed here. https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/85897/how-do-you-plan-subtasks-into-separate-sprints Are there any plans to allow viewing a stories subtasks during planning mode with the assumption that the whole story and all subtasks will be added or excluded from the upcoming sprint? Thanks for your response.
We also have an interest in this. As Dale mentioned, we don't wish to split subtasks into different Sprints, however we would love to have, say, a drop down arrow for Tasks/Stories so you can see the associated subtasks right in the plan view without having to scroll down in the detail view and get only a few characters preview of what the subtasks are.
Unfotunately, I don't think Atlassian will be doing this anytime soon. Generally, you are supposed to assign the Story Points to the parent task and not the sub-task.
