Hi,
what is the best approach to securely access our local database from Jira Cloud App?
Current situation: we are running locally isntalled Jira Server with the Elements Connect App. In our environment there is a local Postgres DB with some Company data, which we connected to Jira via Elements Connect Datasources.
Now we are planning to migrate to the Jira Cloud and we are looking for a solution how to securely access that local DB from the Cloud Jira.
We do not want to work with ip activation. is there any way around it? Or is there any other solution without Elements Connect?
Thanks!
Hi @Ma_GD
I'm Nicolas from the Elements team.
As many of our On Premise customers, you are interested in Jira Cloud. That's why we released a Cloud version of Elements Connect.
Here is a documentation page explaining the migration path. It contains lots of interesting details.
As you can see in the feature comparison table, SQL datasources are also available in this Cloud version so you should be able to connect to your PostgreSQL database without any problem.
We would be pleased to help you to check if your use cases are fully compatible. That's why I'd advise you to contact us through our Support portal to continue.
Of course, feel free to ask any other question.
PS: Please note we work a lot on Elements Connect for Jira Cloud to provide new features regularly so stay tuned to find out how the app could also help you for other use cases!
Have a nice day!
Kind regards,
