Active Sprint not populated within story jira field but story is shown in Active Sprint Kanban view

Hi! We closed our previous sprint and selected to carry-over incomplete stories to the next Active Sprint. Although we can see all the stories within the Active Sprint view on our scrum board, when we click into some of the stories, only the previous sprint is listed in the jira field. Some of our stories though have both sprints populated within this field. Could someone give some guidance on why this is the case and how we can re-populate these fields? Thanks!
