Add and remove available values for custom field list Programmatically

hi - I have an existing custom field consisting of a drop down list and various available options eg "red", "blue", "green".

I would like to programmatically add and remove from the available values for this drop down list using either the python API or the HTTPS API.

Again - I want to add/remove from the available values for a custom field (not update  the value for a custom field that is attached to any given issue).  I want to add/remove from the available values for a custom field.

 is this possible if so how?

Hi,

You can't do it with API.

It can be done only from Jira UI as admin.

is this request on the JIRA HTTPS or Python roadmap - it seems like a very natural type of update to want to make.
