Add columns in default Issue Navigator - no Columns button available

We want to add few fields (in-built and custom) to the default Issue Navigator of our project. However there is no "Columns' button available to select them. I am able to create a separate filter for my needs but that doesnt show up as a default issue navigator filter.

Correct there is no way to modify that default view. One option is to create your own filter and use that. You can add a shortcut to your side bar if you wish to provide easy access to your filter results.
