Hello team,
I am looking to add a component field to my jira project.
I wish to use this field to define my list of components and then map default assignee against each component. Unable to identify how to go about setting up.
Could you please advise?
TIA!
Hello @Kunal Maheshwari ,
On the left navigation bar under Development, you should be able to see Component segment, if you are not using compass make sure it is disabled and selected as Jira Component.
You can start creating component from there. Please make sure that field is added in the screens.
Thanks Akhand..

Option is there for Company Managed Projects
As you are using team managed project, I don't think Components is there for team managed projects yet.
Check Atlassian ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-92565
As a work around you can use multi select custom fields

Another reason never to use team-managed projects.

Hi @Kunal Maheshwari welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Jira components provide the possibility to identify the component lead and automatically assign issues to the default. You don't need to create a new component field for that.
Just make sure that the Components field is added to the screens of your project.

I agree, at my previous work place it was always available, it was an on prem setup.
But, the current workplace uses a Cloud one (Standard plan). I am just unable to find where this field is.
