Adding confluence link in Jira with OAuth

Bunty

Hello All,

I've added confluence link in Jira, confluence link status shows "Status Unavailable".

There is no problem with the confluence URL, I've tried ping command in Jira server both servers are talking to each other so there is no problem with this.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to have Administrative permissions on both servers?

Currently, I've admin access to Jira applications and the Jira server. I don't have admin access to confluence application and the server.

2. Do I need to create OAuth and add confluence as one of the consumer as mentioned in this URL(https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/oauth/)?

Confluence version - 5.4.4

Jira Version - 7.12.3

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Manikanta

Your version of Confluence is too old to be linked to newer products like Jira 7.12.3.  Please see the Application link matrix for more details.   It explains the version of the application link libraries that each Atlassian application is using.   There is also a note at the top of the page about:

Known incompatibilities

Atlassian Support has noted the following incompatibilities:

  • Products using AppLinks 4.1 or earlier cannot be linked to products using AppLinks 5.0 or later

In this case, all the Confluence 5.4.x versions are using Applinks 4.0 libraries.   You should be able to get past this specific incompatibility by upgrading Confluence to a 5.6 or higher version.
