Adding custom filters to Project page in JIRA, is it possible?

Hi all,

I have numerous projects in JIRA now and custom workflows that auto assign resolutions at certain points of the workflow. These tickets will be held in this point until we're ready to push them through to other departments, however, currently the project screen (for issues) only lists "Unresolved" tickets which means we're missing a lot that have auto resolutions.

Is there a way to add or customise these filters to show certain tickets at certain stages as well/instead?

The best way would be to develop a plugin that created a new project tab and you could control exactly what was shown on this screen.
