Hi and welcome,.

If you're using Jira's incoming mail feature to create or update issues, the system may not automatically extract and save attachments from the email. This depends on the mail handler configuration and whether attachments are supported in your setup.

If you're manually attaching an email (e.g., saving it as an

.eml

file and uploading it), the attachments embedded in the email won't be extracted or displayed separately in Jira. Jira treats the

.eml

file as a single attachment and doesn't parse its contents.

Other reason could be :

Jira administrators can set restrictions on attachment types and sizes. If the email's attachments exceed these limits or are of a restricted type, they may be excluded.

And it could be:

If you're copying and pasting email content into a Jira comment or description, formatting issues or the email client might prevent attachments from being included. Attachments typically need to be saved separately and uploaded manually.

Could you clarify how you're adding the email to the Jira issue (e.g., manually, via automation, or another method)? This will help narrow down the root cause.

If you're not the Jira administrator, I recommend reaching out to your admin for assistance with mail handler settings or attachment policies.
