Adding mandatory "Root Cause" to a bug on checkin

Hi,  I am trying to work out how to do this.  I guess it relates to transition to Resolved state but I can't see where to do this.   Any clues?  Thanks!

  1. create the custom field if not already done
  2. create a screen that can be use to request input for the new field
  3. edit the workflow in diagram mode
  4. double-click the transition(s) going into the resolved status
  5. add the screen you created
  6. add a Validate action that requires the field to be filled in and add an error message if not done

Thanks for that Jack.  This is very helpful.  I followed the steps and can see what you mean.  The key here is discovering the validate action, and also the references to this in the user documentation.    I think you may also have answered my other question about making time tracking mandatory.   I'll try this out shortly.
