Adding status column to scrum board backlog

Jared Hebb March 31, 2022

So we have scrum board setup to track tasks for the current sprint.  In the Backlog section in the Scrum dropdown, it's broken down into sections to reflect work assigned to future sprints.

In these individual sprint dropdowns, the tasks that are listed don't display the issue status.  Is there a way to add that?

Yes!

The administrator of the board can go to Board Settings > Card Layout, and add the Status field to the cards displayed in the backlog.

Board Settings is accessed from the ... button in the upper right corner of the board displays.

@Trudy Claspill - although helpful, that didn't quite answer his question. In the same view he has listed above (NOT the card view), is it possible to add a status column in the list view?

@Cameron Gull

Actually, my answer does apply to the question asked.

If you go to the Board Settings and select Card Layout you will see that there are two Card sets that you can modify; the Backlog and the Active Sprints.

When you modify the Card set for Active Sprints, that affects the view of the "cards" in the Board display.

When you modify the Card set for Backlog, that affects the view of the "cards" (the issue in the list section of the Backlog shown in the image) in the Backlog screen.
