Adding transition that circles back to same Status "breaks" Board view (bug or feature)

When adding a transition in w workflow that circles back to the same status (a tip I found to automatically assign certain fields without doing a status change) the Project Board will stop working. It says my project isn't configured to use boards. Well, it was, just until I added that transition. Remove the transition, and it works correctly again.

Don't know if this is a bug or expected behavior....either way its unfortunate.

I believe you’re experiencing the known limitation of business projects. They are meant to have a single workflow for all issue types associated with the board it also does not support looped transitions which is what you’ve shown here.

Thank you for the quick response. Otherwise, the looped transition seems to be working fine. I haven't noticed any issues with my testing. Are you aware of what type of project DOES allow it fully?

Yes the workflow will work fine it’s just that it breaks the board. It works fine with  software  projects
