Additional fields added to card layout not editable

I have added some additional fields to my card layout. They are visible on the card but the value shown is 'None' and there is no option to edit it. These fields do not show up in the edit view of the issue. How can I assign values to these fields?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

You tagged your post as Cloud hosting but based on the URL in your image you are using a self-hosted (Server or Data Center) instance.

In order to be able to edit values on screen for those fields they will have to be added to the screen associated with the Edit action for those types of issues, in the Screen Scheme(s) used in that project.
