After copying a board under the same project how do I un link the issue cards?

After copying a board under the same Kanban or Scrum project how do I un link the issue cards so when I update or change issue cards on Board A it does not change the issue cards on Board B? 

I am able to change Board settings for Board A without affecting Board B. I am also using Jira Server.

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

Boards are populated based on a filter, so you would need to modify the filter used by the board. Take a look at Configuring filters. If you go to board settings you will find the filter being used under the general tab.
