Allowing users to upvote

I am looking at adding the service desk option to my Jira suite. I currently have limited user base (IT department only) allowed to login to Jira software (cloud) and Confluence (cloud).

We are ready to open up for UAT but need additional tools or different set up to support our process.

  • We want non Jira users to be able to submit tickets (Covered via central point person who will receive email and input into Jira).
  • Non Jira users to see all issues created (Able to create in Confluence with anonymous users)
  • Non Jira users to upvote issues
  • 1 centralized location that all Jira and non-Jira users can receive updates on issues (Confluence with anonymous).

Will Service desk provide me with this ability? Any suggestions? Any add ons that could make this work or better?

Hi @Raoul Kaiser ,

When you say non-Jira users, I assume you're referring to users that have no license. With that, please find the answers inline:

  • We want non Jira users to be able to submit tickets (Covered via central point person who will receive email and input into Jira).
    • Jira Service Desk can achieve this.
  • Non Jira users to see all issues created (Able to create in Confluence with anonymous users)
    • Users belonging to one organization in Jira Service Desk can see all issues created by users in the same organization. This helps in separating users from those from other organizations.
    • Not sure how you intend to use Confluence here, please elaborate.
  • Non Jira users to upvote issues
    • Jira Service Desk can achieve this.
  • 1 centralized location that all Jira and non-Jira users can receive updates on issues (Confluence with anonymous).
    • Again, organizations can help here.
    • Not sure how you intend to use Confluence here, please elaborate.

Thanks,
Kris

In confluence you can create a list of Jira tickets to display with different criteria you want shown on the list so that is how I would display the issues created.

I can create a blog in Confluence and then display that blog to the anonymous users to view.

These 2 processes are very easy I was just struggling with the upvote.

Thank you for your help.
