Hello, I am a newbie here.. I have a problem. Could somebody here help me?

My scrum team are doing mistakes and we to move back the tickets from Reopen issues --> back to "to do"  during the active sprint, but I get a message like this:

"Something isn't letting us move MYR-464 to To Do. Ask your project administrator to check the workflow settings and transition conditions."

So as Jira admin, I go to the Issues > Workflows
and then I have no idea what to do. How do I set transition conditions?

Can anybody here help me? Thank you so much!

Hi @Kenshi Himura

The workflow that you are showing is a custom workflow (meaning someone created it) and doesn't contain global transitions. Global transitions allow any issue to move freely from one status to another. Using this feature is the simplest way to do it. However, you will not be able to have a more specific workflow path.

  • Click settings > issues
  • Workflows
  • Edit the workflow you want
  • Click on each status and check the box "Allow all statuses to transition to this one"

Hope that helps!

Now, if you want to add custom conditions, then:

  • Click on the desirable transition
  • Click "Conditions"
    condition01.png
  • "Add Condition"
    condition02.png
  • Choose one of the available option and set it up appropriatelycondition03.png

Keep in mind that you might NOT have all the above mention options to set up a condition, unless you have installed the JMWE addon.

Let me know if you need anything else.

@Krisna Leo Parista

First of all, as I see from your SS, you have enable in most of your statuses the global transition! Well done!

In order to create a condition you have to click on a transition (a line), and NOT on a status. Then these options will appear :)

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Welcome to the community.

In your case it seems that you doesn't have a transition from "Reopen" to "To Do".

So in order to create a new transition you need to drag a line from the "Reopen" to "To Do".

Click on the status, you will see some little circle>drag a line from one circle (Reopen status) to your destination status (To Do).

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/work-with-issue-workflows/

When the transition will be created you will be able to add condition, postfunction...

Hello @Kenshi Himura ,

As per the above diagram (Workflow)

There is no outgoing transition from "Reopened" to "To Do" status. please ask your Jira admin to add a transition between these two statuses.

Just add a transition from "reopened" to "To Do".

Thanks,

Anvesh
