Hi,
We are planning to migrate to Jira Datacenter from Jira Server. As a part of migration process, I see that few of the plugins is not compatible with Jira Datacenter. Please see the below plugins.
1) Jira Calendar plugin
2) Jira Charting plugin
3) Jira project role tab
4) SSL for Jira
5) Toolkit plugin for Jira
Do you guys have any other replacement of those plugins or recommendations of alternative plugins for those?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Santhosh.
Hello @Santhosh Reddy Singireddy ,
Ultimately any server app will install and function on the Data Center (DC) platform, however, some apps can cause performance issues where the application is not optimized for replication across the shared home directory in DC. While an app is unverified it may still function without issue on DC but is in an unverified state as testing has not been performed to verify the compatibility.
So with that noted If there is functionality in any of the apps you are using that is critical to your environment I would recommend setting up a staging environment and testing the apps deployed to the staged server and monitor the system for any performance impacts.
Next for finding alternative apps, the first step I would recommend to locate alternative plugins in the marketplace is to use the filter options under the "Show apps for:" section and adding in the "Data Center" filter to provide a list of Data Center verified apps. Then compare the capabilities of the apps to find one that best fits your needs.
Calendar apps and reporting tools have a lot of options, As an example calendar apps for Jira Data Center can be seen using this filter:
For charting apps:
However, the other apps you noted are a bit more complex, as there are not really any directly comparable apps. For the Jira project role tab, I would recommend that you Email the vendor or Submit a support request in their support portal to see if they are working on a DC-compatible version or have done any testing on the DC platform.
With SSL for Jira, I would recommend first testing the app as noted previously, or manually configuring the SSL configurations instead of relying on the app for configurations, as covered in:
And lastly, the Jira Toolkit plugin, Again doing a performance test on the app is the first step, then an upgraded version of the tool for Data Center is being tracked in the ecosystem issue tracker at the following link, And you can Watch The App in the marketplace for updates but as this is an Atlassian Labs and unsupported tool it may not be updated for DC compatibility:
Are there any specific gadgets in the toolkit that you are looking for? As there may be another tool that can fill the role of certain gadgets in the toolkit plugin.
Regards,
Earl
