Alternatives to data limits of Advanced Roadmaps

DTrav November 10, 2021

What are the alternatives to Jira Advanced Roadmaps limits of 5,000 issues and 100 projects? Is there an alternative in native Jira? Are there Jira add-ons that allow higher data limits and provide the same functionality as Advanced Roadmaps?

Thanks

Hi @DTrav,

There is no other tool that does exactly the same thing as advanced roadmaps, but depending on what you are trying to do, there are alternatives out there that allow you to visualise issue structures with more than 5.000 issues available.

If your main goal is to visualise the structure, then ALM Works' Structure  app is a good candidate. Don't hesitate to explore the Atlassian Marketplace if you would like to explore multiple options.

Hope this helps!

Hi @DTrav welcome to the Atlassian community.

The documentation for Issue limits says,  "A single plan can load up to 5,000 issues and can’t contain more than 100 projects. For larger projects, consider spreading the work across multiple plans".

As of now I haven't explored any such plugin, but does your organization really looking forward to more than 5000 issues and 100 projects?

Thanks for the reply. We would like to look across about 15 projects and  the # issues in those 15 projects exceeds 5.000. Spreading across multiple plans is not an option for our use case.

Thanks

Hi @DTrav

The most popular apps supporting project management are: mentioned by @Walter Buggenhout Structure and BigPicture.

BigPicture is a comprehensive tool that supports project management in every phase, helps to plan, manage and track the projects. There is no limitation in the number of displayed issues.

I enclose the link to our blog article: "BigPicture vs. Advanced Roadmaps. Two Giants compared" in case you want to compare the capabilities of both tools.

I hope this helps.
