I'm getting an antivirus warning logging into Jira. A/v s/w claims the log-in site is infected with HTML:Script-inf[Susp]. S/W does a scan of my h/d and so far has found no malware. This started today. Any ideas why?
Hi Nicholas,
while there is some (somewhat unlikely possibility) that there is some kind of malware hiding on your PC from all virus scanners there is a more likely chance that this is a false positive report by your scanner.
Maybe the scanner found some pattern on the page that it suspects to be suspicious while it is not. If the warning vanishes after some time there is a great chance the signatures of the scanner have been updated to iron out this mistake.
If the message appears still and also other scanners probably report a finding an offline scan with (for example) a linux based virus scanner started from USB stick or even DVD would probably be a good choice.
Cheers,
Daniel
