Any difference between the api token created by normal user and Jira Admin?

HI,

We are trying to connect our own internal tool with Jira cloud. In the process we are using two api tokens, one is created by normal user and another one created by Jira Admin/Org Admin. Is there any difference between the two tokens of their use or the privileges.

Thanks,

Mahanth.

Hello @Mahanth Prudhvi P

Since those account types are completely different and have different permissions, their associated API Tokens have completely different permissions.

  1. An API Token belonging to a 'normal' user account has the same privileges as that account type.
  2. An API Token belonging to a Jira Admin user account has the same privileges as that account type.
  3. An API Token belonging to a Org Admin user account has the same privileges as that account type.
